  • The site sends the message that learning can be cool and fun. On the other hand, it also sends the message that Poptropica (the site's paid version) is so much more fun!
  • Cartoon violence like tossing pigs or pelting penguins with snowballs.

  • The paid version of this site called "Poptropica" is heavily pushed. Somewhere before, during or after every feature, players see an ad for Poptropica.
  • You don't need to register to play on this site, but registered users get "enhanced content," and the possibility to win prizes. Kids younger than 13 cannot become members. Site collects cookies and IP addresses.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this educational game site for grades K-8 pushes its companion site -- a subscription-based virtual world called Poptropica -- at nearly every turn of a webpage. If you can avert your child's eyes from the Poptropica ads, there's many educational games here designed to build on skills that kids are working on in school. Some games are intended for use in the classroom. There's a section called "Moms and Kids Playground" geared toward younger users to play on the site with a parent accompanying them.

Very Fun and Educational
This website is for kids that need help with math and reading. It can improve your skills in a fun way, there are plenty of fun games that make kids want to play it even more till they beat a level. There are also games for fun and they keep you busy.

It is cute
I am pretty old to be on these kinds of websites but I find this fun and educational! I enjoy the games and creativity. This is a good site for all ages under 12!

Boring For Older Kids, Greatly Educational for Children
Funbrain is great for little kids to build their math and reading skills in a way that they think is fun. Personally, I used to like it in middle school. But I never used it in my free time, it was too stupid for me to use it frequently. I only played it at school when the teachers made us play on it. But I think it is incredibly boring. I hate Funbrain.

OK. My only concern is that there is a lot of consumerism, there's A LOT of ads for Funbrain's sister site Poptropica, which is a virtual world and dosent need parental permission to play.

Cool word games add extra challenge to friendly edu-site.

Simple and safe; a great first site for preschoolers.

Jam-packed with many types of problems disguised as games.
