Leave It to Niecy

Common Sense Media says

Quasi-reality sitcom shows strong blended family.
Age
12
Quality

  • Strong positive messages about family, relationships, and respect.
  • Niecy cooks up some crazy schemes, but works hard to create a loving family environment, and sets (and enforces) appropriate boundaries in her home. The children aren't perfect, but respect their elders.
  • Contains the occasional comic reference to giving a black eye as a way of disciplining. A cast member is shown vomiting.
  • Some sexual innuendo. The newlyweds often hug and kiss. Teen pregnancy is occasionally alluded to. References are made to "boobs"; Niecy gets a mammogram, but the procedure is not shown.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this mild reality series contains positive messages about family. Expect some sexual innuendo that will go over young kids' heads, as well as a few references to "boobs" and teen pregnancy. Threats of disciplinary action make non-serious references to hitting.

Awesome
This show is hilarious, but there is sexual content that may not be appropriate for children under ten. Kids hear this language at school, though.
