"One More Night" (CD Single)

Common Sense Media says

Mostly clean but mature song about an unhealthy relationship
Age
13
Quality

  • Negative message about going back again and again to an abusive relationship.
  • The track is about refusing to let a harmful relationship go.
  • Lyrics about a couple who inflicts physical violence on each other: "You and I go hard at each other like we're going to war / You and I go rough, we keep throwing things and slamming doors."
  • Some lines about "your lipstick makes me so out of breath" and spending the night together.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that "One More Night" is a mature song in that it describes a guy who can't break free from a physically abusive relationship. It also includes some pretty sultry lyrics about spending the night together. Although the song doesn't have any profanity or explicit sex, the talk about returning to an unhealthy relationship doesn't send the best message to younger kids who are still figuring out what it means to date someone.

Note for Parents
For me, It sounds fine no bad word. For me this sounds pretty wrong:You and I go hard At each other like we going to war You and I go rough We keep throwing things and slamming the doors It sounds like the word is describing sex.

Okay song. I like it better than "Payphone".
This song is okay. I do believe there is a mention of how the guy still doesn't want to be her boyfriend, but he can't resist her love: "I'll be makin' love in the morning". At least I think that's what it says... -Samantha

Love this song
I love this song so much! Once you listen to it, you'll want to play it over and over again. I didn't really know it had some iffy stuff in it until I looked at a lyric video!

Great!
This song isn't appropriate for all ages because of the situation, but I love the song. As long as your old enough to understand the song, i think you should be fine.

My Favorite Song!!!
I love this song! Parents need to know that this song describes a very violent relationship. Lyrics say, "You and I go hard at each other like were going to war," You and I go rough we keep throwing things and slamming the doors." A couple sexual references such as, "You're lipstick makes me so out of breath," and "Trying to tell you no but my body keeps on telling you yes," and, "God, you stuck on my body like a tatoo." But this song is amazing, I have it on my iPad. Definetely my favorite song!

one more night cd single
Families can talk about why some people continue to return to abusive situations. What are some of the reasons that a person would stay in touch with someone who treated them badly? What should you do if someone you know is in an unhealthy relationship? Who should you tell? Why do you think so many people are attracted to "bad" girls and boys? Can you think of any other songs about being addicted to someone who isn't good for you?
