Legend of the Sea

Common Sense Media says

Some conflict and minor violence in Pixar rip-off.

  • This film is intended to entertain, not educate.
  • Growing up isn't easy, and sometimes it takes some longer than others to develop talents and gifts.
  • Prince Draco fights against an evil interloper, which is nice, but none of the characters are distinct enough to make them stand out much.
  • Swordfish try to stab the dragon hero. Lobsters fight crabs. Shrimp fight swordfish. A dragon is stabbed with a spike through his middle section. A dragon blows fire on swordfish, setting them on fire.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Legend of the Sea is a mediocre CGI feature about a dragon prince who must rescue his beloved sea from an evil octopus. There is minor violence between fish fighting for supremacy, as well as dragons blowing flame on fish. (Don't ask why fire burns in the bottom of the ocean.) Ultimately, this isn't the most exciting story, though younger kids who can handle the tension might be temporarily amused.
