Parents need to know that Style Studio: Fashion Designer is a great creative app for kids interested in clothing design. Be aware, though, that viewing the tutorial video will take kids directly to YouTube. Also, kids will be able to layer their fashions onto photos of themselves or others and then post those pics on Facebook or Twitter or send them through the mobile device's email application.

What's it about?

There are three options on the main screen: Design, Dress Up, and Showcase. To design, kids pick one of 13 main categories for women or six for males. Additional packs of categories are available for in-app purchase. From within each category, kids choose shape, color, material, print, and more. Once complete, they can choose a model to dress up in their creations, create a runway or magazine scene for their model, and share with friends.

STYLE STUDIO: FASHION DESIGNER allows kids to design their own clothing from scratch. They choose the style of garment, alter the length or collar type, choose a material, add patterns, cut the material to the shape they want (they can use multiple materials for one garment), add graphics, buttons, bows, etc. They can even create custom patterns and materials from their own photos. Then they can take all their designs, dress virtual models with them (or dress themselves, if they're posed correctly in a photo), and put on a fashion show. The app looks absolutely great and is incredibly easy to use. Similar console games can cost as much as $40 or $50 -- and they won't even be as good.

OK for kids & up

POSITIVE!

This is perfect for kids that want to express their inner passion! But, there should be an adult for kids 12 and younger because you are able to post photos of yourself. Have Fun! I only gave 4 stars because I am a hard judge, but it really deserves 5!
