Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days

Common Sense Media says

Violent shooter stars remorseless, cop-killing psychopaths.

Quality

  • From murders to arms dealing, this game is all about crime. Players are required to perpetrate criminal acts as part of their mission objectives and have the ability to randomly kill pretty much anyone they see, good or bad. Consequences for acts of evil come only if the player’s character dies before escaping.
  • Kane is a remorseless criminal mercenary, Lynch is a psychopathic killer. Both are self-interested, unlikable, unsympathetic, and unappealing. Worse role models can scarcely be imagined.
  • It’s a fairly standard cover-based shooter, but the difficulty is high. Impatient players who run into the open can expect to watch their characters die frequently. On the other hand, if you stay behind one wall too long your enemies will either shoot it to bits or flank you. It’s quite challenging.
  • Players use a wide selection of guns, as well as some explosive environmental objects, to kill many, many people, including police officers and civilians. Torture, assassination, and random murders are core components of the experience. The action, during both play and cut scenes, is extremely visceral and realistic, featuring plenty of blood and screaming.
  • Our protagonists are nude in one scene, their privates obscured by a blurring effect.
  • Excessive profanity, including “f--k,” “s--t,” and many variants of both words, is heard throughout the game.
  • Not applicable.
  • Characters occasionally reference narcotics, including cocaine. Lynch is on “medication” to keep his sociopathic tendencies in check.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is a gritty, violent, and visceral shooter that looks as though it has been filmed at street level with a handheld camera. Players take on the role of an utterly unlikable psychopathic criminal who kills countless cops, bad guys, and innocent civilians without remorse. The protagonists’ mouths are faucets for strong profanity, and there is one scene in which they are shown all but naked after having been tortured. It is a game clearly and explicitly created for adults.

Kane and Lynch = Bad language
After playing, Kane and Lynch...Dead men was it? I realised how much swearing there was in it and how much violence. After playing this, Its not as bad as before but the profanity is still far too high. The profanity is more of a concern than the large amounts of violence. I do not appreciate hearing the F word every ten seconds. The violence is in a large scale and gives out bad messages, Killing police isn't exactly the greatest role model in the world. Its really short too.. There is a few bits of torture and a whole lot of blood. The language and violence makes it mature.

Don't waste your money.
Save yourself the money and just don't buy this game whether you're 13, 17 or a number in between. It's cover based shooting, and JUST THAT. Buy some other game which your kid or youself can enjoy, Get any other game just not this one

Reverse motivations
I say educational value because I feel this game has some reverse motives, they aren't try to teach you to be psychopaths, they are telling you not to be them through what happens with the characters.

An awesome, well made but violent and cold crime thriller.
I have just got this game from GameStop and I haven't completed the game yet and am already wrIting this review. There is tons of language and violence as well as implied sex and prostitution. This is one game that absolutely is not suitable for anyone under 13.Like the GTA games, very realistic and violent.

HELL NO
I usually grade kindly on these but kane and lynch is absolutely not for kids when i played i was horrified and the beginning scene where a man slits his throat and blood gushes everywhere. this game blurs objects out leaving the graphics to the mind. If you shoot someone in the head the blur comes up leaving what happens to that person in your mind (head pops, parts of the head falls off) If you are looking to play for yourself its fun but dont let your kid see
