This book is perfect for any child learning to read also it is very interesting.

A classic
The Common Sense review summarizes much of the good stuff abt this book but I wanted to add one more thing - Lisa, the girl who takes Corduroy home, is not white (it looks like she's black or hispanic). It's hard to find good books with minority main characters and this one is so readily available at libraries everywhere.

A timeless classic good for preschool aged kids
I had this book as a child, and loved it. I was 7 in 1968 when it first came out and it meant a lot to me because it was the first book I owned that had a Black girl as the protagonist...someone who looked like me! As a mother, I purchased the book for my daughter who is now 26 and a mom herself. It's a good book for anyone regardless of age or race, very warmhearted and inspiring because we all at one point had a toy we fell in love with and loved despite it's alleged 'imperfections.'

my older cousins loved it, I loved it, my younger sister loved it. Everyone loves Corduroy and its eternal messages of kindness and friendship.

Great story all around
Corduroy is an excellent story. Probably one of the best children's books in general. Talks about the importance of home, friendship, and love. All the while providing an exciting story about a teddy bear looking for one small button in a giant department store. I would recommend this book to anyone with children.

AH, MY CHILDHOOD!
This book brings back so much memories when I was a toddler! It is too cute and adorable! Nothing inappropriate about it! This would be the best bedtime story to read to your kids! I love this book! I wish I still have it so that I could read it to my kids someday!
